Experienced Welder/Fabricator

Metal Masters, LLC | Williamsburg, VA
Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
$28–$30/hour, based on experience and capabilities

Metal Masters is a small, family-owned welding and fabrication shop in Williamsburg, Virginia. We’re looking for an experienced welder/fabricator with 5+ years of hands-on experience who takes pride in building quality work and has the skills to take a project from a drawing or concept through finished fabrication.

This isn't a production welding position. Our work changes from project to project. We fabricate, modify, and repair everything from custom architectural metalwork to commercial equipment and one-off fabricated components for residential, commercial, and local government clients.

If you enjoy figuring out how to build something—not just making the same weld all day—you may be a good fit for our shop.

What You'll Do

  • Fabricate, modify, and repair metal structures and equipment

  • Read and work from blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications

  • Measure, lay out, cut, fit, and assemble fabricated components

  • Perform high-quality MIG, TIG, and SMAW welding

  • Work with steel, aluminum, and stainless steel

  • Perform sheet metal fabrication

  • Set up and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas

  • Solve fabrication problems and work through unique project requirements

  • Follow shop safety procedures and standards

  • Work independently and as part of a small team

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced fabricator—not simply someone who knows how to weld.

Qualified candidates should have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 5+ years of welding or fabrication experience

  • Strong proficiency in MIG, TIG, and SMAW welding

  • Experience with sheet metal fabrication

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings

  • Strong measuring, layout, and basic math skills

  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, fabrication equipment, and measuring techniques

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Valid driver's license

Preferred:

  • Welding certifications (MIG, TIG, SMAW)

  • Brazing experience

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday

  • 7:30 AM–4:00 PM

  • Consistent full-time schedule

  • Overtime opportunities available

Pay & Benefits

  • $28–$30/hour, based on experience and capabilities

  • Paid Time Off (accrual-based)

  • Paid holidays

  • Consistent weekday/day-shift schedule

  • Opportunities for advancement in a growing company

Physical & Work Requirements

This is a hands-on fabrication position. Candidates must be able to lift 50+ lbs and frequently walk, stand, bend, and lift. The position occasionally requires squatting, crawling, kneeling, climbing, and balancing.

Work takes place in varied environments, including a climate-controlled shop and outdoor job sites. Some projects require working in tight, elevated, or precarious spaces.
